the airplane seat at best

the airplane seat at best
feels like a dentists chair

have you put on your blue shoes today
+ are they as sorry as your hands

can you hear me praying to god
that i won't have to use the airplane bathroom
after i finish this 2010 olympics coke

i wish i could see the apartment building from here
your shoes sitting in a tile square
the fake mannequin butler
welcoming me away with a turned up nose
and a hand that held a plate

i'll pledge some lines to you before we land:

the only thing i like about a street
—you singing in it
the reason i like frank o'hara
—he wrote from his nose

for you i'd turn paper into hardcover
just using my facelips
